Dallas police said a man was found shot dead in the driver's seat of a car on Interstate 35E early Friday.
The victim, identified by the Dallas County medical examiner as Jose Luis Catalan, 21, of Richardson, was found mortally wounded about 5:10 a.m. inside a two-door white Cadillac sedan stopped along the center median of the northbound lanes.
A bullet hole could be seen on the passenger side of the car, near a window. Police said Catalan had been shot multiple times. Police said there were no suspects in custody, and they would not elaborate on a possible motive for the fatal shooting. Investigators urged anyone who may have seen what happened to call police. All northbound lanes of I-35E were shut down for about one hour during the initial investigation. One lane of traffic was later permitted to pass, but authorities closed all lanes again around 7:30 a.m. At one point during rush hour, northbound traffic was backed up to Motor Street near downtown Dallas. Southbound traffic was slowed by curious motorists. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/wfaa040917_wz_roadrage.125df6a8e.html
